Each year, more than 5,500 school children enjoy learning about and listening to symphonic music in November at performances in Lima and in Findlay. This age-appropriate concert teaches kids about the symphony and opens their eyes and ears to a world of possibilities through music. Last year, maestro Crafton Beck led approximately 60 musicians from the Lima Symphony Orchestra as they demonstrated the acoustical properties behind music and musical instruments, including how different materials make different sounds, how sound travels and how sounds vary according to the shape of the instruments.
